I started an Internet search on “How Disney Cartoons Affect On Children?” I am focusing on how it affects physically and mentally for them. I used one article and its explain about the effects perfectly , then from the each effect, they also give an example and their expectation about the children attitude in the future.
“From the opinion, people think that cartoon have lots of positive effect, but instead of it they said that cartoon have lot more negative effects, why?”
Because they said, cartoon could make children to be severe and lazy. But I find it cartoon also teach positive things and there’s more positive things than negative things. Example: Friendship (Winnie The Pooh, Pooh is a good man. He cares for his friends and always help his friends no matter what happens. He also teach the children to be patient, caring, and sharing)
2.Comprehension
How to make the children be more clever and well-mannered from the cartoons affect?
I’ve made a survey from teenagers and adults opinion about cartoon. Therefore, it’ll be my main idea to interview the children. I’ll be interview the children and make the questions for them according to the opinions that I’ve got. Because unexpectedly, in the early age, sometimes kids could have a good opinion and an wonderful idea. After finished interview all the childrens, I’ll try to find out 5 ways to make their ingenuity increases and it’ll be also in a unique and childish way. So, if I introduce my ideas, they’ll be fun, enjoying the ideas and undeniably, they’ll understand and do my ideas if they are comfortable with it.
3.Application
I will read and analyse the survey and then make a diagram using Microsoft Excel. The diagram will show the presentation of positive effects, negative effects, and netral (the opinion if they think cartoon doesn’t have any positive and negative effects). I will also put the explanation below the diagram.
1.What is the best Disney cartoon movie in your opinion?
Pocahontas and Peter Pan. The story lines are great and so is the music!
2.Is it true that sometimes adults or teenagers watch cartoons with their children or siblings for accompany-ing them from any bad scenes/actions?
After a certain age we all start getting over things. cartoons that we used to watch everyday start becoming boring because other things in life are better or more important but majority of the time is that adults , have other responsibilities and cant find time for cartoons
3.What do you think 5 cartoons that you’re not allowed your children for watch? And why?
·Ed Edd n Eddy– Ed, Edd n Eddy is a show about three young friends who continuously try to scam money off of their friends to get candy. Ed, Edd and Eddy’s schemes never work but are the plot of each and every show. This cartoon is annoying to me because it is a group of boys that are always getting into predicaments while trying to scam other kids. Even though their scams never work this cartoon just seems really pointless to me and sends a strange message to children.
·The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy– The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is a show about two kids Billy and Mandy making the Grim Reaper their friend for eternity. This cartoon can be really disgusting, disturbing and over the top especially for a kids cartoon. There are so many things wrong with this cartoon its hard to limit it to just one reason.
·Chowder– Chowder is a show about a young boy named Chowder who assists a chef. Although this show has some potential the characters can be really annoying and obnoxious. Sometimes the show does not seem to have a point at all and there are some disgusting parts on this show as well. There are so many other cartoons out there that are better than this cartoon show.
·The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack- The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack is a show about a young boy named Flapjack who is being raised by a whale. The whale Bubbie and Flapjack rescue Captain K’nuckles a pirate who tells the two about CandiedIsland; which is an island made of candy. The show is about their crazy misadventures in pursuit of CandiedIsland. This cartoon can be disgusting and Flapjack and the pirate are pretty obnoxious. Some of the story lines are not really kid-friendly even though the focus is on getting candy.
·Family Guy– Family Guy is an adult cartoon show about the Griffin family. The family consists of the parents Peter and Lois, their children Chris, Meg and Stewie and their dog Brian. This show has a great deal of adult humor and although I love this show it is not kid-friendly at all. My children try and watch it because they find it funny but I will make them wait a few years for that.
4.What do you think positive and negative effects of cartoons?
It depends on what the cartoons are about. If the cartoons teach children about bad things, it doesn’t have any positive effects. But, I think from the average, the positive effects are children could learn more from cartoons and they’re having fun with the cartoons. The negative effects are sometimes its have violence scenes and sometimes the cartoons are not match with the childrens have to watch on their ages.
During the past 5 weeks, i have created 2 tasks on my topic.
First, i researched using the net and found an article that provided background information to help my understanding of the issues related to my topic, which is 'How Does Disney Cartoons Affect On Children?'.
With this information, i created a summary on the topic and posted it on my blog page. This helped my understanding and provided me with more information to move to the next stage on Blooms.
During the"comprehension"stage, i created my second task, before i record my summary of article that i've found, i put a comment on a website, which is asking'Is the beloved cartoon "SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS" sending children bad messages?'i submitted the answer of my comment on that website, then embed a visual snapshot of my comment and the question to show the audience my understanding of the topic. We were asked to record our summaries as a video and embed the file into my blog page to demonstrate our oral language skills and ability to master information and expression. I found this difficult to do at first but Bibil was able to assist us and i was pleased with the final product.
Now i am preparing for the next stage of Blooms, which is"Application"and i am deciding how i will design my next task that could include: an interview, a simulation, a presentation using IT tools and illustration.
It's time for me no now to plan my next task so pleasecheck my blog on Friday and post a comment!
The reason why i record the summary of the article that i've found is because i think people will more understand and its creative. Also, i could explain it with tone of voice that express the condition for children nowadays. I found this article on www.bgsu.edu, its a really good website for children.
"the reason why i think spongebob squarepants is a cute cartoon because you know if you open tumblr or whatever websites which is have a picture and quotes, ex:weheartit.com, if u search a picture about spongebob quotes. there will be a good quotes about spongebob. spongebob teach us to be patient and about friendship. I think the only bad things about spongebob is..... same as another cartoons which is make childrens imagine about something impossible, but its normal. its educate them because they are still growing up, i believe as time goes by, they are getting more and more older, they will know the differences between bad and good things. SO, why do we protect childrens from cartoons? THEY HAVE TO watch it, educate and make them feel happy :-)"
that's my comment :-)
much of people thinks that cartoons have a bad influences. but i think its NOT!

Summary of The Article
Children have become much more interested in cartoons over many years and it has become a primary action to some lives. Typically, children begin watching cartoons on television at an early age of six months, and by the age two or three children become enthusiastic viewers. This has become a problem because too many children are watching too much television and the shows that they are watching (even if they are cartoons) have become violent and addictive. The Children who watch too much cartoons on
television are more likely to have mental and emotional problems, along with brain and eye injuries and unexpectedly the risk of a physical problem increases.
Mental and Psychological Effects on Children who Watch Cartoons From the time children start school to the time that they graduate. This comparison is an outrage because of the amount of television that is watched by a child will have an effect on their brain, emotions and their sense to feel pain. the U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher stated that more aggressive behavior in a young child’s life is caused by frequently watched entertainment that incorporates violence in it. This has become a public health issue and because of the research findings; the American Psychological Association passed a resolution in February of 1985, informing broadcasters and the public about the dangers violence on the television has on children. Three major effects have been proven by psychological research caused by children seeing violence on television are that the child may become less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others; children who watch violence do not fear violence nor are they bothered by violence in general and the children are more likely to become aggressive or use harmful actions towards others.
